The West Valley College Library Archives project is a work in progress. Over the past several years staff, faculty, and student volunteers have been invaluable in collecting, cleaning, organizing, and processing of archival materials on the campus.
In 2010, the West Valley College Library received a Local History Digital Resources Project grant from the California State Library. The project was supported in whole or in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
As a part of the project, 200 images from the West Valley College archives were scanned and were hosted at the Califa Digital Collections. In the summer of 2011, the collection was loaded on the Calisphere and Online Archive of California websites.
Additional scans will be added to the Califa Digital Collection prior to uploading to and the Online Archive of California.
West Valley College Library Archive collection guides (also known as finding aids) can be viewed at the .
The West Valley College Library Archives is open by appointment to students, faculty, staff, visiting researchers and the general public. Please make an appointment to use the collection.
The West Valley College Library strives to create a physical and online environment of intellectual freedom which protects the interests of all members of our campus. Access to research, information, and technology is critical in identifying and eradicating social inequities and racism. As a library, we pledge to be an active partner in combating systemic discrimination on our campus and foster skills and resources that students, faculty, and classified professionals can use to confront discrimination in our society.
